Position Summary
The Lab Repair Technician will be an integral part of the development and deployment of new and existing CARBO products and technologies. These include applications in both our Oil & Gas and Industrial divisions, as well as new markets such as solar energy. The Technician will work at CARBO’s Houston Technology Center.
Key Roles / Responsibilities :
- Expert in maintenance, de-bugging, and repair of testing or processing equipment.
- Independently repair and maintain equipment.
- Be sure testing equipment reliably collects accurate and precise data.
- Perform1 testing for the support of research and development of products for industrial, and oilfield applications.
- Alter existing equipment and build simple new equipment to better meet processing or testing needs in support of research and development of new products.
- Maintain facilities and coordinate maintenance / repairs by external entities.
- With little direction or supervision, perform other related duties and / or special projects as required.
- Adhere to all safety standards and practices, consistent with corporate safety policy.
- Diagnose facilities and lab equipment, perform basic repairs, recommend and direct more advanced repairs.
- Participate in ideation, design, and building of novel lab equipment.
- Perform occasional materials testing.
