Job Summary and Qualifications

A Journeyman Electrician is a skilled worker who is an expert at working with any manner of electrical systems in commercial and industrial settings. As a Journeyman Electrician, their responsibilities and duties include installing new electrical systems, as well as maintaining and repairing existing ones. Journeyman Electrician are experts on electrical equipment, lock-out / tag-out processes and all electrical systems in the hospital environment including emergency generators and emergency power supply systems. They may train and direct Electrical Technicians and Electrical Apprentices on their way to becoming Journeyman Electricians. Must be able to work on weekends and evenings and participate in an on-call rotation.
