JOB SUMMARY : Ensure that the District’s science needs are met by providing services in purchasing, inventory control, science kit refurbishment, and computer pickup and delivery scheduling. Manage science kits for all schools, ensure kits are complete, and coordinate kits to the schools on time and within budget. Manage physical inventory of science resource items.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : The following tasks describe the basic functions of the job and represent the type of work performed. They do not constitute an exhaustive list of the duties and responsibilities performed on the job. The following frequencies and percentage of time spent are approximations only and are subject to flexibility dependent on organizational needs.
- Inventory, refurbish, and ensure that science kits are complete and sent / returned within the designated time frame. Oversee refurbishing of science kits and maintain refurbishing budget. [Daily, 25%]
- Support ordering and finalizing of all science resources in adherence to District purchasing guidelines, departmental procedures, and functionality in the classroom. Support the research consumable and replacement components of all science resources and determine most appropriate purchases for the District. Support the evaluation and reconciliation incoming requisitions, packing lists, receiving documents, and other source documents for accuracy and appropriateness. Coordinate resolving any inconsistencies. May also contact vendors to expedite overdue shipments. [Daily, 20%]
- Serve as a direct contact with classroom teachers to support kit replenishment and materials needs. [Daily, 15%]
- Organize and maintain physical inventory of science resource items and periodic physical and live inventory. Audit and determine new product needs and elimination. Assist with warehouse order processing, picking, and fulfillment. Advise remote users of system and warehouse changes. Restructure Science Resource Center as curriculum resources change. Inventory current materials and repurpose to fit the needs of new curriculum materials as they shift. [Daily, 15%]
- Maintain and update the District’s computerized inventory control system master files and master inventory list to effectively manage science materials. [Daily, 5%]
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. [Daily, 5%]
