Job description

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking an HR Specialist in the St. Louis area. Ideal candidates will have a manufacturing background and experience implementing policies and ensuring compliance.

Title : Human Resource Specialist

Type : Direct Hire / Permanent

Industry : Manufacturing

Location : St. Louis, MO 100% on-site

Schedule : Monday-Friday; standard hours of operation

Compensation : $60,000 to $70,000 annual (flexible upon experience)

Job Description

  • Oversee day-to-day HR operations within the manufacturing facility.
  • Maintain and update employee records in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Ensure the HR department's activities comply with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Manage the recruitment process including job postings, interviews, and selection of candidates.
  • Coordinate with department heads to understand staffing needs and create job descriptions.
  • Develop and maintain a pipeline of qualified candidates for future staffing needs.
  • Act as a liaison between management and employees to address employee grievances and concerns.
  • Foster a positive work environment and promote effective communication within the plant.
  • Conduct investigations into employee complaints and resolve conflicts in a fair and timely manner.
  • Oversee the performance review process, ensuring timely completion and consistency across the plant.
  • Work with supervisors to identify performance issues and develop improvement plans.
  • Provide guidance and support to managers on employee development and performance enhancement.
  • Identify training needs and coordinate training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
  • Ensure compliance with mandatory training requirements, including safety and regulatory training.
  • Promote continuous learning and development opportunities within the facility.
  • Administer employee compensation and benefits programs, ensuring alignment with company policies and industry standards.
  • Handle employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, and other HR-related issues.
  • Monitor and analyze compensation trends to ensure competitive and fair compensation practices.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular audits of HR processes and records to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborate with the Safety Manager to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Promote adherence to health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Manage workers' compensation claims and facilitate return-to-work programs.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred, but not required
  • 5+ years office management; preferably in a manufacturing setting
  • Proven experience in managing HR staff and overseeing HR operations
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in HRIS and other HR software applications
  • Pay Details : $60, to $70, per year
