Job descriptionKey Responsibilities : Customer Service Excellence : Greet customers with a warm and welcoming demeanor as they approach the checkout counter. Assist customers with locating items, answering questions about products, and providing guidance on store policies and procedures. Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a professional and courteous manner, ensuring their satisfaction before they leave the checkout area. Transaction Processing : Accurately scan and process items through the point-of-sale (POS) system, ensuring that all merchandise is correctly priced and coded. Process various forms of payment including cash, credit cards, debit cards, and mobile payments, adhering to Walmart's cash handling policies and procedures. Verify the validity of coupons, discounts, and other promotional offers, applying them correctly to transactions. Bag items efficiently and neatly, taking care to separate fragile items and perishables to prevent damage during transportation. Cash Management : Maintain a balanced cash drawer at all times, reconciling cash transactions at the beginning and end of each shift. Count and verify cash, coins, and checks received from customers, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Follow security protocols to prevent theft, including checking for counterfeit currency and monitoring for suspicious behavior. Product Knowledge and Upselling : Stay informed about current promotions, sales, and product offerings within the store to effectively promote add-on sales and upselling opportunities.
