Job Description
The server management service delivers management of Customers inscope server environment. The service is based upon the standard modules described in this document and provides server management and operations support based on system configurations. The service will be provided onsite at their DC and DR Sites. The following list of activities should be performed under Server OS management :
Monitor health status and availability
Monitor Services
Check log files on critical events
Fix critical events
Report availability of OS
Analyse performance issues from the OS level.
Performance issues due to Other than OS (i.e. Apps / DB)
OS Shutdown / Startup / Reboot
Disk Space Management (Manual Monitor & Report available disk capacity)
Add remove and modify user accounts
File Permissions and Access
Create and Perform OS Backups and Restoration for any restoration or resolution requirement
Root disk mirroring
Update new OS Patches
Kernel configuration
Manage vPars (Create / Boot / Modify / Reset / Remove)
CPU Memory monitoring
Disk and share management
Logical and physical disk management from Storage in HP UX
Escalate disk file and share incidents as needed in accordance with escalation procedures.
Monitor and manage services for Server Availability.
Need to update patches regularly. Security related mandatory patches should be updated as and when required
Modify Permissions and privileges for users and groups
Resource should have knowledge on SAN Architecture and perform SAN Zoning
Resource should have knowledge to configure / install Data Protector Backup Appln
Scheduling a Backup / on demand backups
Manage Jobs Restart Jobs Control Jobs
Media management
Restoration of data as required following backup policy guidelines
Provide recommendation to backup policies and procedures.
Knowledge on Ignite Backup and DRD clone
Knowledge on HPE Blade Servers
Knowledge on Managing 3PAR Storage Devices and SAN Switch Management
Creation of SAN Zoning
Administration of Backup Application like Data Protector
