SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and manage the day-to-day functions of daily audits of gaming and non-gaming revenue outlets (HRM, food and beverage, event center) to ensure correct operating procedures are adhered to in accordance with SOX, regulatory requirements and internal control standards.
- Review daily work generated by revenue auditors and prepares journal entries necessary to book revenue to the general ledger.
- Prepare special reports for audit preparation and review reports prepared for and by outside monitoring agencies.
- Perform management functions such as hiring, training, evaluating and providing performance feedback to Revenue Audit staff; provide direction and guidance for the department
- Ensure month-end audit journal entries and account reconciliations are accurate and complete
- Investigates and reports any discrepancies with established control procedures. Serves as the primary liaison with internal and external auditors for any revenue audit fieldwork.
- Responsible for State and Federal gaming tax payments and assists with year-end reporting
- Deep focus on continuous process improvement and performance management for gaming and non-gaming audits. Also recommends and implements process improvements as needed
- Assist in Planning and Analysis duties as preparing the annual budget and monthly forecast, as the direction of the Finance Department leaders
- Support annual operating budget process, capital budgeting process, financial forecasting efforts and ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed
- Review staffing levels to maintain full employment. Delegate authority and assign responsibility.
- Development of staff, interviews, hires, and evaluates.
- Review audit activities with the Director of Finance.
- Supervises policies, procedures and regulations regarding audit and compilation of revenue and reporting requirements and General Applied Accounting procedures (GAAP).
- Meet with departmental directors and managers as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
