Position purpose
The purpose of this role is to assume accountability for the Billing & Coding Department.
Role and Responsibilities
Leads, manages, and is accountable for the Billing & Coding Department.
Audits the Billing & Coding Department monthly for accuracy and compliance.
Provides timely, accurate and complete reports on the operation condition of the department
Attracts, recruits and retains required members of the team.
Resolves problems relating to staffing and utilization of the Billing & Coding Department.
Performs hiring procedure, and sanctions per policy including terminations
Evaluates performance and recommends merit increases, promotion, and disciplinary actions.
Creates weekly task schedules.
Coordinate and execute quarterly gift certificate program for cosmetics.
Execute annual external audit and update policies based on results.
Creates, updates, and maintains training SOPs.
Addresses internal and external service recovery.
Delegates authority and responsibility as appropriate.
Assists each section of the department with daily tasks as needed with a focus on coding.
Ensures the team effectively manages insurance AR and denials
Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Enterprise Operations Manager.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Bachelor's Degree.
5-7 years' experience in healthcare billing and coding with 1-3 years' in a management role.
Certified Professional Biller and / or Certified Professional Coder.
Clear communication skills and ability to multi-task.
