Your Team

MAG's Transportation Division provides strategic direction and technical expertise to guide regional mobility and infrastructure development. The team serves as a hub for data analysis, policy planning, and coordination with member agencies and stakeholders. It supports long-range planning efforts, aligns transportation investments with regional priorities, and ensures compliance with federal and state requirements.

The Position
MAG is seeking an energetic, motivated, detail and team-oriented professional to support the executive office and Transportation Policy Committee. Main responsibilities include:
  • Facilitates preparation and execution of the Transportation Policy Committee agendas and meetings. Performs various administrative activities during policy committee meetings, including roll call, maintenance of quorum, recording of committee actions and associated reporting to chair.
  • Prepares and distributes committee agenda materials, public meeting notices, meeting minutes and set-up for committee and stakeholder meetings.
  • Manages calendar for the Assistant Executive Director, scheduling internal and external meetings, travel, and agency-supportive activities, as directed.
  • Manages the Transportation Division agenda tracking system, maintains alignment with the agency-wide 12-month policy committee agenda tracking system and supports bi-weekly internal agenda planning meetings.
  • Manages the updating and transferring of transportation agenda items through the monthly policy committee cycle process.
  • Facilitates executive communication, prioritizing and responding to emails, phone calls, and correspondence in a timely manner.
  • Builds relationships with MAG member agencies and stakeholders. Responds to requests from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Supports and manages special projects at the direction of the Assistant Executive Director.
  • Provides various executive support, including maintaining databases and contact lists and/or preparing invoices and expense reports.
  • Screens calls, emails, and visitors on behalf of the Assistant Executive Director and Transportation Division.
  • Organizes and maintains files, databases, and other information systems.

The ideal candidate will have the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Creating reports and presentations

  • Utilizing common business software applications
  • Adaptable in performing a wide range of duties, frequently shifting between tasks of varying nature or complexity

Technology Skills
Proficient in Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office products, including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Experience and Education

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Political Science, Statistics, Urban Planning, or related field.
  • At least 3 years executive level administration support or 5 years general administrative support.
  • Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.
