JOB DESCRIPTION Under the direction of the Director, Procurement - Contracts, the Manager, Vendor Risk Management is responsible for implementing, managing, monitoring, and reporting on third party risk management initiatives. This role is critical in managing various long and short-term activities and strategic programs related to third party risk management (TPRM). The Manager, Vendor Risk Management oversees the due diligence, on-boarding, on-going monitoring, and off-boarding for vendors to meet established San Manuel Band of Mission Indians' (SMBMI) requirements. Additionally, the Manager, Vendor Risk Management will use technology solutions to monitor and report on vendor performance, incidents, and other KPIs. This is a key role to ensure that vendor risk management initiatives are aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
The Manager, Vendor Risk Management will be highly organized and capable of providing support to all business units, while holding high-level independent judgment and initiative in collaboration with enterprise stakeholders. They will also collaborate, initiate, and support opportunities with other functions by championing the goals and priorities of the Tribe in a manner that faithfully reflects and upholds the Tribes vision, mission, and values.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Responsible for managing day-to-day programs to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of operations by driving the ownership of eligibility, verification and processing of new vendors and vendor change requests into Enterprise Resource Planning system.
2. Responsible for managing and optimizing existing vendor data to maintain accurate information with necessary supporting documentation.
3. Oversees and enhances the Third-Party Risk Management Program that documents and tracks third-party risks, controls, incidents, and due diligence compliance.
4. Manage and enhance diversity, onboarding, ongoing oversight, and off-boarding procedures for vendors
5. Ensures vendor due diligence is performed appropriately for each vendor classification, utilizing project management skill to ensure timely completion of tasks.
6. Research vendor related data and prepare reports that support vendor management initiatives.
7. Develops an incident reporting process and provides oversight, tracking, and accountability for issue resolution.
8. Champions and collaborates to enhance a vendor diversity program aligned with enterprise objectives and requirements. Trains both internally and externally to support objectives.
9. Implements and manages vendor management technology tools, standard operating procedures, and KPIs to support the efficiency and effectiveness of the vendor management program.
10. Evaluates employee performance, provides guidance and feedback regularly, and promotes opportunities for professional development.
11. Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning reviewing and directing work; evaluating and appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Makes hiring decisions and designs individual development plans with succession planning in mind for all key roles.
Education / Experience / Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, and / or Business Management; or related field required.
Minimum five years of related experience with a proven track record of successfully having implemented and directed a program is required.
Minimum of three years of supervisory experience required.
Related, relevant, and / or direct experience may be considered in lieu of minimum educational requirements indicated above.
Knowledge of the procure to pay (P2P) process.
Knowledge of and experience with ERP and procurement systems.
Demonstrated ability to develop and execute comprehensive vendor risk management strategies and action plans.
Ability to leverage data and analytics to generate business cases and support decisions.
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office : Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, Outlook and internet applications.
Must maintain a strict level of confidentiality and act in a manner consistent with all legal and regulatory requirements and in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Ability to multi-task, lead and prioritize effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with demonstrated strong customer service, negotiation, organizational and time management skills.
Demonstrated analytical, organizational, strategic, and planning skills.
Ability to develop, lead, and motivate cross-functional teams.
Certificates / Licenses / Registrations
At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
Certified Third-Party Risk Professional (CTPRP). certification is preferred.
