About the Role
The Company is in the process of internalizing its credit risk models and is in need of an SVP to take on a dual role as a strategic leader and hands-on contributor in the development of these models, with a specific focus on commercial banking. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end process of credit risk model development, from conceptualization to implementation, and will play a key role in mentoring and guiding a team of professionals in this area. This is a pivotal position that requires a deep understanding of credit risk modeling within the commercial banking sector and the ability to ensure that the models are robust, compliant, and aligned with the company's risk management framework. Applicants for the SVP position should have a strong background in credit risk modeling, particularly in the context of commercial banking. A proven track record in developing and validating credit risk models, as well as experience in regulatory compliance and risk management, is essential. The role demands a strategic thinker with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business terms and to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. A Master's or Ph.D. in a quantitative field such as finance, mathematics, or statistics is typically required, along with a minimum of 10 years' experience in credit risk modeling or a related field. The ideal candidate will also have leadership experience and the ability to foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
