Overview

This position will function in a fast paced medical setting, specializing in one or more areas of medical care. The ideal candidate will demonstrate professionalism and excellent communication skills to foster and contribute to a collegial environment, with the primary focus of providing outstanding care to our patients and their families.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate an exceptional patient care experience by ensuring and assisting patient flow within the office, attending to needs of patients, their families and medical staff
• Prepare patient for physician visit : Obtain and document appropriate vital signs and health history information in Electronic Health Record (Allscripts). Assist patients with any paperwork necessary for the visit.
• Clinical duties : Check vital signs, Give injections (including immunizations), Medication administration, breathing treatments, Pulmonary Function Testing, dressings, vision / hearing testing, suture removal, patient education and assisting physician with procedures. Distribute / educate regarding home spacers and nebulizers. Assist with follow up calls to families regarding visits / procedures.
• Laboratory testing : Specimen collection (including finger sticks / venipuncture), Performing laboratory testsDocumentation, recordkeeping, and reporting.
• Patient triage : Telephone and walk-in triage, Patient documentation and follow up.
• Documentation : Check and maintain Crash Cart chartCheck and maintain Automated External Defibrillator on a rotational basis.
• Assist with preparing clinical schedule.
• Provide excellent, clear documentation in every area of the office. All documentation is done in the Electronic Health Record, either by entry or by scanning documents.
• Work closely with physicians to ensure patient and family needs are met in an expeditious manner.
• Assist in other areas of office as required.
