Job Overview
Analyze mechanical components, structures, and systems in concept, design, or hardware stages to insure adequate performance for the intended function. Recommend and evaluate design modifications to solve product reliability issues, improve performance, and add value. Participate in the development of advanced analytical methods and techniques utilizing state-of-the-art technology
Perform in engineering projects to develop, maintain and support components, products and / or services per market demands, and for continual process improvements. Perform or conduct engineering evaluations including investigations, fundamental calculations and tests that have well defined requirements and desired outcomes. Provide conceptual and strategic solutions to solve problems associated with engineering projects or evaluations.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Perform analysis on new and existing designs, which : 1) reduces number of prototypes; 2) improves product quality; and 3) reduces warranty expenses for mining equipment, sales of which typically exceed $300M per year.
- Plan and execute as many as 10 analysis projects per year and complete up to 8 comprehensive technical data reports.
- Provide advice, guidance, and support in area of design analysis for approximately 80 design and test engineers.
- Participate in effective Change Management to achieve the desired organizational outcomes by successfully changing individual behaviors as needed.
- Participate in and support programs for effective communication of engineering issues to ensure compliance with global standards for design and safety of products and services, as well as engineering best practices.
- Participate in and support improvements to streamline engineering processes used to design, develop, maintain and support components, products, and / or services.
- Take responsibility for one's own learning and development for the mutual benefit of one's self and the organization.

Hiring Range
At Komatsu, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays $85,000 - $100,000. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including experience and location.
