Job descriptionConduct regular safety training for employees and management. Investigate and report incidents, accidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions. Monitor and report on key environmental performance indicators. Develop strategies to reduce waste, energy consumption, and water usage. Work with cross-functional teams to integrate safety into all aspects of operations, including new projects and processes. Conduct drills and exercises to ensure preparedness for emergencies. Encourage employee involvement in safety initiatives. Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory agencies. Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field. Proven experience in EHS management, preferably in the food manufacturing industry. Knowledge of relevant regulations, standards, and best practices. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to lead and influence others to achieve a positive safety culture. Problem-solving skills and attention to detail. The responsibilities of the Environmental, Health, Safety (EHS) Manager are
Regulatory Compliance :
Stay current with and ensure compliance with all relevant environmental, health, and safety regulations applicable to food manufacturing.
- Interface with regulatory agencies and third-party auditors as needed.
Safety Programs :
Develop, implement, and oversee safety programs to prevent accidents and injuries.
Environmental Management :
Implement and manage environmental programs to minimize the environmental impact of operations.
Risk Assessment :
Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend measures to control and reduce risks.
Emergency Preparedness :
Develop and maintain emergency response plans.
Safety Culture :
Promote a strong safety culture by fostering awareness, communication, and accountability.
Reporting and Documentation :
Maintain accurate records related to safety incidents, environmental performance, and compliance.
