Job description

The Role :

We are searching for an experienced Medical Director of Clinical Quality & Safety (Part Time) to lead clinical leadership and play a key role on the leadership team at Cerebral. This would involve overseeing clinical quality and safety efforts, providing input on new product innovations, interfacing with our advisory board, being the leadership representative to our clinician teams, and serving as the primary leader of clinical improvement initiatives. As our Medical Director of Clinical Quality & Safety, you will serve as a key clinical expert, working with cross-functional teams as well as external collaborators.

This is a W2 salaried position, working part time hours.

Who you are :

  • Medical Degree and broad based post-graduate experience
  • You are a Board-certified physician (MD) with 5+ years of experience as a psychiatrist with experience both as a practicing provider as well as operating in a fast-paced, high growth business or telehealth startup
  • You have 3+ years of experience working in Clinical or Medical Leadership roles in technology environments
  • You are a thought leader with demonstrated passion for reimagining how behavioral health quality is defined, measured, and operationalized and have experience merging technology and healthcare
  • You are a collaborator who has worked with cross-functional teams, such as product, operations, data, and go-to-market teams, to infuse clinical strategy across the organization
  • You have experience supervising clinicians or large teams of providers, with an emphasis on performance management and clinical outcomes.
  • Innovative and entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to thrive in a fast paced startup environment
  • You’re effective at communicating clinical information to both clinical and non-clinical staff
  • Patient centric, self-motivated, energetic, vigilant, comfortable working remotely
  • Comfortable understanding of clinical quality and outcomes data and metrics
  • Training in informatics is optional, but preferred
  • You hold multiple state and DEA licenses and / or are willing to build up your licensure

How your skills and passion will come to life at Cerebral :

  • Be deeply involved in and a champion of care delivery and clinical quality and clinical safety initiatives
  • Serve as a clinical liaison with cross functional teams to ensure all projects and initiatives are developed with a clinical lens
  • Oversee direct client care and work with psychiatric nurse practitioners as a collaborating clinician
  • Provide direct management to our other CollabMDs and physician staff
  • Oversee Cerebral’s provider onboarding and ongoing training and provider engagement program
  • Own Cerebral’s clinical quality monitoring and outcomes metrics for the organization
  • Contribute to strategic planning, direction, and goal setting for the Clinical Team
  • Maintain appropriate policies, procedures, and clinical practice guidelines to support top quality mental health services
  • Support clinician interviews and serve on the Credentialing Committee to hire new clinicians to Cerebral’s Medical Group
  • Determine if removal of a provider is appropriate based on the code of conduct
  • Partner with Support, Compliance, Ops and Product, and Engineering teams to ensure the delivery of our mental health services are optimized
  • Provide input on how mental health clinicians can utilize digital tools to deliver high quality care in a compliant manner
  • Serve as primary liaison and manage relationships with members of our Clinical Advisory Board
  • Promote external relations with Payers through relationship building, presentations, sales meetings, and conference participation
  • Establish and maintain strategic relationships with the medical and scientific community including payers, pharma, hospitals and physician specialists
  • Be a Cerebral public facing representative through presenting as a thought leader in precision psychiatry at conferences and contributing to medical writing for blogs and peer-reviewed journals

  • The national base salary range (OR the national hourly range for nonexempt positions) offered for this position is outlined below. Cerebral is committed to equal pay for equal work; however, business reasons may dictate variations in pay that are attributed to objective factors, such as a candidate's qualifications and years of experience. Total compensation includes base salary and may include an annual performance bonus and equity / stock options.

    National Base Salary Range : $96,000—$118,000 USD
