POSITION SUMMARY
Provides technical expertise to leadership, field management, safety personnel, and subcontractors on an ongoing basis. Promote positive cultural change by continuous engagement and coordination with employees, project superintendents, subcontractors, and the owner community.
RESPONSIBILITES
- Maintains relationships with site leadership / superintendents to assure a mutual understanding of SBU, project and company safety strategy goals / objectives.
- Maintains and develops policies / procedures as needed or as directed by the Director of Corporate Safety.
- Consults with Director of Corporate Safety and legal Representatives on litigation arising from compliance activities.
- Leads oversight and facilitation of the Site Specific Safety Plan (SSSP) process.
- Assumes a leadership role in the handling of all accident investigations and / or OSHA citations; facilitate communication of accident investigation to appropriate personnel.
- Performs formal inspections on project(s) in area of responsibility.
- Track and evaluate jobsite safety trends and leading risk indicators and collaborate with Director of Corporates Safety and field leadership to develop and implement corrective measures and provide expertise in the inspection, analysis, audit, and / or investigation of safety practices.
- Provides oversight to ensure ongoing application of the LeChase subcontractor prequalification process.
- Represents LeChase Construction in meetings with clients, governmental agencies, contractors, insurance companies and labor union representatives to resolve safety issues or to formulate policies, procedures, or programs to further improve safety programming.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education / Experience :
High school degree or equivalent education required. College degree in Environmental, Health and Safety or related field strongly preferred.
Minimum of OSHA 30 training required.
7+ years of construction-related safety experience strongly preferred.
CHST, ASP, and / or CSP preferred
Skills / Competencies :
Strong knowledge of safety policies and procedures
Strong knowledge of OSHA 1926 standards.
Technical Competency in ES&H required.
Competency in program and procedure development
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
