Job description
Residential HVAC Sales Technician
Aire Serv of Houston Midtown
We are hiring a Residential HVAC Technician with a strong sales mindset. This position is for technicians who are confident diagnosing HVAC systems, explaining solutions to homeowners, and presenting repair and replacement options. This is not a parts-only role. Sales ability and customer communication are required.
Primary Responsibilities
• Diagnose residential HVAC systems including split systems, furnaces, heat pumps, and air handlers
• Perform HVAC repairs, replacements, and system upgrades
• Identify system failures, safety issues, and efficiency concerns
• Present repair, replacement, and upgrade options to homeowners
• Confidently explain pricing and available financing options
• Educate customers on comfort, efficiency, and system performance
• Close approved work during the service visit
• Maintain a professional appearance and customer-first attitude
Sales & Customer Experience Expectations
• Present multiple options rather than a single recommendation
• Communicate clearly and confidently with homeowners
• Build trust through education, not pressure
• Handle price objections professionally
• Meet performance goals related to close rate and customer satisfaction
Required Qualifications
• Minimum 2 years of residential HVAC experience
• EPA Certification (Universal preferred)
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
• Comfortable discussing pricing and recommendations
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and manage service calls
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in a commission-based or performance-based role
• Prior exposure to HVAC system replacements
• Comfort presenting financing options
• IAQ sales experience including filters, UV lights, and duct improvements
Compensation & Benefits
