The Opportunity
Nestled along the pristine dunes of the Monterey Bay, The Sanctuary Beach Resort is seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Sales. This is a rare opportunity to represent a coastal haven where the rugged beauty of the Pacific meets refined hospitality. You will be responsible for developing and executing strategic sales plans that leverage our unique beachfront location through direct sales, innovative marketing, e-commerce, and deep-rooted community partnerships.

Area Director of Sales – Regional Director of Sales
Your Focus
- Leadership & Culture: Interview, select, train, and coach sales associates, ensuring they perform in accordance with established standards while embodying our core values.
- Strategic Planning: Use internal and external data to develop comprehensive strategic plans that incorporate all business segments, from corporate retreats to leisure stays.
- Revenue Generation: Achieve annual hotel revenue goals as established in the budget and identify customer requirements to craft offers that increase revenue share.
- Account Management: Maintain and grow relationships with key accounts to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and long-term loyalty.
- Sales Execution: Use professional negotiation techniques to secure the best possible terms and leverage the unique coastal benefits of the resort to close opportunities.
- Marketing & Presence: Prepare and maintain a current annual marketing plan with measurable initiatives and travel locally to promote the resort and review competition.
- Operational Integrity: Follow sustainability guidelines related to the EarthView program and maintain effective oral and written presentations to clearly communicate recommendations.
Your Background and Skills
- Education: A four-year college degree is preferred; advanced coursework in business, marketing, or communications is a plus.
- Experience: Previous sales experience in a hotel of comparable size and scope is required; operations experience is preferred.
- Specialized Knowledge: Proven experience in public relations and community marketing is essential.
- Technical Proficiency: Expert use of Excel, Word, Delphi, and access database tools.
