Job Overview
Automotive Development Group is seeking an experienced and strategic Construction Director to lead our nationwide construction operations. This executive-level role will oversee projected 2026 sales of $50 million, manage a team of Project Managers across the country, and drive the successful execution of automotive service facility projects from conception to completion.
This position is responsible for Lead, Manage, and Accountability (LMA) of the Construction Group—ensuring every project is delivered On Time, On Budget, and To Our Standards, while building long-term client relationships and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
The Construction Director will lead the daily operations of the Construction Group, including:
Leadership & Strategy
Lead, manage, and hold accountable the Construction Department and Project Management team.
Set clear performance targets, objectives, and responsibilities for supervised staff.
Provide coaching, mentorship, and professional development to team members.
Align construction operations with corporate Vision, Mission, and Values.
Collaborate with executive leadership on long-term strategic planning and growth initiatives.
Financial & Operational Oversight
Oversee full departmental P&L responsibilities and profitability.
Manage projected construction revenue of $50M+.
Forecast project pipelines, resource allocation, and national capacity planning.
Ensure project margins are protected through cost control and value optimization.
Supply accurate financial reporting and recommend policy and procedural improvements.
Project & Construction Management
Oversee all construction activities from pre-construction through closeout.
Develop and manage master project projections and monthly distribution schedules.
Ensure adherence to legal regulations, building codes, and safety standards.
Maintain and update scopes of work and pre-construction documentation.
Monitor risk management strategies to keep projects on track and on budget.
Ensure delivery of high-quality workmanship and materials.
Subcontractor & Network Development
Grow and strengthen a nationwide subcontractor network to meet project demands.
Build strategic relationships with dealer groups, architects, engineers, general contractors, and trade partners.
Ensure contractual obligations are fulfilled and vendor performance meets company standards.
Client & Culture Focus
Report to clients and senior leadership on project progress.
Drive internal and external customer satisfaction—creating “Raving Fans.”
Reinforce company core values and customer-focused culture within the construction team.
Qualifications
Minimum 5+ years of experience in construction leadership roles.
Proven experience managing construction of Automotive Service Facilities.
Demonstrated experience overseeing multiple Project Managers and nationwide projects.
Strong financial acumen with full department budget and P&L responsibility.
Experience managing large-scale commercial project portfolios ($50M+ annual volume preferred).
Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field.
PMP (Project Management Professional) certification preferred.
Strong leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills.
Experience growing and managing a national subcontractor network.
Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to travel nationally as project demands require.
