Senate Receptionist
The Office of the Oregon Secretary of the Senate is seeking a Senate Receptionist to assist with daily chamber operations of the Oregon State Senate during the 2026 Regular Session. This position serves as a point of contact for the general public and visitors to the Senate chamber.
This is a limited duration, part-time (20 hours per week) position beginning January 29, 2026 and is expected to last no later than March 9, 2026, but could end sooner dependent on the conclusion of the 2026 legislative session. This position requires the employee to work on-site in Salem, in the Oregon State Capitol. Remote work is not available.
Key Responsibilities Include :
- Works in tandem with Senate staff to help control ingress and egress to the chamber floor during floor session adhering to Senate rules and customs.
- Aids in enforcing rules of decorum as prescribed by the Rules of the Senate.
- Greets and aids the general public with questions concerning the Senate and Capitol building.
- Greet visitors and respond efficiently to questions.
- Compile and keep daily reports and make them available to the general public for perusal.

Your application must demonstrate : High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalency. Previous reception work preferred or related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to demonstrate ability to perform the duties of the position may be considered.
