POSITION SUMMARY
The primary objective of the Children's Programs Coordinator (CPC) is to support the Summer BreakSpot (Summer Food Service Program-SFSP) run by Feeding South Florida (FSF) throughout Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade Counties. The CPC must be detail-oriented, appreciate routine, and have a strong inclination toward administrative work. The CPC will conduct monitoring site visits and ensure all assigned meal sites operate according to USDA program regulations. The ideal candidate is energetic, hard-working, organized, is a master multi-tasker, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has a background in customer service/relationship management.
COMPENSATION: $19.23 - $21.63 per hour
SEASONAL: May to August 2026
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct monitoring visits of Feeding South Florida-sponsored Summer sites throughout Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade counties.
Provide a corrective action plan (CAP) to sites not following SFSP regulations and conduct site reviews to verify CAPs have been implemented.
Provide training for SFSP Site Supervisors on Program Compliance, Food Safety, and Civil rights.
Review and accept daily paperwork and reports from Summer BreakSpot sites to ensure responsible stewardship and accurate daily meal counts.
Monitor and adjust daily meal counts and service times as needed, and immediately report any changes in meal numbers due to attendance fluctuations.
Ensure sites provide adequate supervision during meal service with accurate "Point of Service" meal counts.
Report immediately any other problems regarding meal service.
Liaise with the program caterer to ensure meal counts are correct and invoices reflect accurate meal counts.
Abide by all SFSP regulations and special instructions.
Attend training sessions.
Train SFSP sites to refuse to receive meals that are spoiled, frozen, damaged, or not within appropriate temperature ranges.
Immediately notify the Children’s Programs team if any meal service times need to be changed or are not being met.
Immediately notify the Children’s Programs team if meals are not delivered at the scheduled times.
Provide excellent customer service and communication to program sites, including a timely response to phone calls and emails.
Comply with civil rights laws and regulations.
Assist management as necessary.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma (bachelor’s degree preferred)
Customer service/relationship management experience (Operations experience in addition to customer service is preferred)
Positive attitude, energetic, good sense of humor – a “people person”
Strong communication skills, with the ability to speak publicly.
Strong math skills
Sensitivity to diverse populations with the ability to serve people in a compassionate, patient, friendly, and courteous manner, showing sincere interest in people’s concerns (Bi-lingual preferred)
Ability to manage time efficiently while under pressure in a fast-paced environment with multiple responsibilities.
Ability to work productively without constant supervision.
Experience and comfort with training and teaching others.
Attention to detail, accuracy, and deadlines.
Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion, including impartiality to certain organizations, agencies, groups, or individuals.
Possession of a current and valid Florida driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
Bi-lingual preferred.
This position requires an in-depth security clearance for access to school facilities.
A clean driving record is required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING CONDITIONS
Hours of Operation: Organization hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. This position may occasionally work additional hours throughout the summer and disaster response. This is a seasonal position from May 2026 to August 2026.
Environment: This seasonal position offers a hybrid work environment, splitting time between the office and program sites in the field. The office setting requires adherence to safety standards while performing tasks that involve standing, talking, focused computer work, and utilizing standard office equipment. Fieldwork will involve site visits to schools, churches, and summer camps and may occur in variable weather conditions. Expect moderate to loud noise levels during both office and fieldwork.
Travel: This position may require travel across 3 counties, potentially in a single day. Reliable personal transportation is essential, along with a strong tolerance for extended driving, particularly on interstate highways like I-95.
OSHA Standards: Lifting requirements are 15 pounds, and when lifting loads heavier than 50 pounds, two or more people are used to lift the load.
