Seeking Senior Software Engineer to oversee applications within the H&R Block Information Security team. In this position, you will take a lead role on development projects, writing, testing, and deploying code and cloud infrastructure. Applicants should have strong development, communication, and leadership skills.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the team's DevOps strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.
- Collaborate with software developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to provision and maintain a scalable and reliable infrastructure. Including troubleshooting application issues, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption to business operations.
- Automate and streamline deployment processes, minimizing manual intervention and improving system efficiency. Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to proactively identify and resolve issues before they impact the business.
- Implement security best practices, including access controls, encryption, and vulnerability scanning, to protect company data and systems.
- Collaborate with development team(s) to implement continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI / CD) pipelines, enabling faster and more reliable software releases.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, assessing their potential impact and recommending adoption where appropriate.
- Mentor and guide junior DevOps engineers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
