SUMMARY

Hennepin Healthcare has a current opening for a Security Dispatcher in our Security department. This full-time position will work days, evenings, and nights. Under general supervision, performs work of routine difficulty in the operation of a central alarm station using computers and various communications equipment, initiating proper response for emergency and non-emergency situations. RESPONSIBILITIES

• Receive emergency and non-emergency calls for security service and medical assistance
• Prioritize calls and initiate appropriate action based on incident type and importance
• Contact police, fire, ambulance in emergency situations and coordinate proper response
• Dispatch security officers or other personnel using two-way radio or telephone
• Operate and monitor a wide range of moderately complex computer driven equipment, including
• systems for life / safety, security alarm, closed circuit television and building automations
• Query callers to obtain detailed incident information, record duties and activities
• Generate reports, maintain records, and perform data entry functions
• Operate multi-line telephone system
• Notify appropriate managers or supervisors of critical conditions on a 24-hour basis
• Performs other duties as assigned but only after appropriate training
