Trueline is seeking a Commercial Senior Estimator to join their team in MA at a respected woman and minority-owned union general contractor serving municipal, commercial, and private clients throughout Western Massachusetts,. This is a high-impact role focused on disciplined preconstruction strategy, margin protection, and long-term operational strength. The Senior Estimator will partner closely with executive leadership to drive selective, profitable growth.
Must-Haves as the Commercial Senior Estimator:
- 10+ years of commercial construction estimating experience
- Experience with municipal and or negotiated private work
- Strong understanding of job costing and gross margin structure
- Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously without sacrificing accuracy
- Experience with tools such as Procore, PlanSwift, Bluebeam, or similar platforms
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- High level of organization, accountability, and follow-through
- Comfortable operating in a structured, performance-driven environment
- Lead full-cycle preconstruction and bid preparation for public and private projects
- Evaluate opportunities using a structured bid and no-bid decision framework
- Develop detailed quantity takeoffs and comprehensive cost estimates
- Analyze labor, materials, equipment, subcontractor, and overhead pricing
- Review subcontractor proposals for scope alignment and completeness
- Identify scope gaps, constructability concerns, and drawing conflicts early
- Issue RFIs and document assumptions clearly and professionally
- Protect gross margin targets and flag risk exposure before submission
- Support value engineering efforts while preserving profitability
- Build and maintain strong subcontractor and vendor relationships
- Ensure compliance with MBE and WBE participation requirements when applicable
- Maintain organized bid documentation and ensure accurate, timely submissions
- Support smooth handoff from estimating to project management
- Experience working in a union construction environment
- Background supporting executive-level bid reviews
- Experience developing conceptual budgets for private clients
- Familiarity with succession planning or operational process improvement initiatives
