Senior Interior Designer

Chad's Design Build

Madison, WI

Chad's Design Build is seeking an experienced Senior Interior Designer to join our award-winning design-build team in Madison. This role is ideal for a creative, detail-oriented designer with a passion for transforming homes through thoughtful design, collaboration, and craftsmanship.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead the design phase of residential remodeling and addition projects from concept to completion.
  • Collaborate closely with clients to understand their needs, preferences, and lifestyle, translating them into functional and beautiful design solutions.
  • Prepare detailed drawings, finish selections, and material specifications that align with project budgets and build feasibility.
  • Work hand-in-hand with our in-house estimators, project managers, and carpenters to ensure seamless design-to-construction execution.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of current design trends, sustainable materials, and best practices in residential remodeling.
  • Conduct client presentations, facilitate design approvals, and oversee revisions as needed throughout the design-build process.
  • Participate in site visits to ensure design intent is carried through construction.
  • Support and mentor junior designers as part of our collaborative studio culture.

Requirements :

  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional residential interior design experience , preferably within a design-build or remodeling firm.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing creative, client-centered residential design work.
  • Proficiency in Chief Architect, SketchUp, AutoCAD, or similar design software.
  • Excellent visualization, space planning, and material selection skills.
  • Knowledge of building codes, construction methods, and finish materials.
  • Exceptional client communication, presentation, and project coordination abilities.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
