About This Role :
This position centers on accounting responsibilities while encompassing a variety of daily tasks, working closely with the CFO and Controller. The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in performing complex financial analyses related to organizational performance, goals, and budgets. In a federally qualified health center (FQHC) setting, the role emphasizes accounting functions tied to grants, regulatory reporting, and compliance, requiring extensive expertise and involvement in these key areas.
What You'll Do :
- Provides senior management with appropriate analytic tools and reports to establish goals and measure Organization performance, including bi-weekly analysis
- Assists in the development / maintenance of annual budgets (operational and grants)
- Extracts and formats data from sources to support analytics and management reporting
- Develops trend analysis reports that monitors key performance indicators and compares them to internal and external benchmarks
- Bi-weekly processing of payroll for the organization, using ADP and in coordination with HR department. Strong understanding of payroll related functions and full responsibility for certain critical functions and the confidentiality of same
- Creates 403B Retirement Plan funds transmittal document from payroll records and enters into 403B system
- Strong understanding of payroll related functions such as FSA and HSA, taking full responsibility for critical and confidential functions
- Assists with the preparation of monthly financial statements and supplementary reports, with primary responsibility for the general ledger and monthly reconciliations of g / l accounts
- Assists in the yearly preparation of the annul external audit
- Supervision over cash control spreadsheets and reconcile deposits to bank on a monthly basis. Performs full monthly bank reconciliations
- Oversees the Accounts Payable function. Reviews the weekly payables to confirm accuracy, correct posting and proper paperwork backup / authorizations
- Maintains monthly deadline report to assure all reporting deadlines are met
- Maintains Fixed Asset records in compliance with governmental standards
- Maintains controls over and reporting of grant expenditures
- Maintains and update vendor contract files and control list for the organization
- Assists in preparation of Annual UDS report
- Ensures Contract Management Systems remains current
