Insero Talent Solutions has partnered with a privately-owned and rapidly growing electrical contractor in Rochester, NY to recruit a Senior Accountant.
Position Summary :
The Senior Accountant reports to the Controller and assists with the accounting functions for the company, including reconciliations, A / P & A / R, journal entries, general ledger, and assisting with preparation for the month-end close.
Responsibilities :
- Reconciling bank, credit card, general ledger accounts.
- Entering and posting vendor invoices and payments, purchase orders, customer billing and payments.
- Entering and posting job related and A / R transactions.
- Vendor and customer billing and / or payment disputes and vendor record maintenance.
- Assisting with preparing and posting journal entries.
- Participating and assisting with month-end closing process.
- Generating various reports, including ad hoc requests, compiling data, and ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Following up with Project Managers to approve invoices in a timely manner.
- Confirming monthly insurance, utility, and service invoices are entered correctly.
- Monitoring open purchase orders in system, weekly and bi-weekly.
- Provide backup as needed in the accounting department.
- Documenting processes requested by Controller.
- Supporting additional projects by Controller.
