Job description7+ years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer in robotics or a related industry . Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. Strong expertise in electromechanical system and mechanism design . Ability to navigate both ambiguous and structured engineering requirements . Resourceful, adaptable, and capable of making informed decisions with limited information. Proficiency in 3D CAD software (preferably SolidWorks ). Experience using structural and thermal analysis tools . Strong knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawings . Expertise in low- and high-volume manufacturing techniques , including injection molding, forging, casting, CNC machining, additive manufacturing, and sheet metal fabrication . Hands-on experience with hand tools, assembly techniques, and prototyping . Proficient in the entire design lifecycle of parts and subassemblies .

This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the entire robot lifecycle, from design to production, while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of engineers. What You’ll Be Doing :
- Design and develop next-generation robotic hardware, pushing the limits of manufacturing technology while minimizing costs.
- Perform structural and thermal analysis, correlating results with physical testing.
- Prototype components using tools such as laser cutters, 3D printers, and hand tools to test and refine new concepts.
- Create and maintain CAD assemblies, perform tolerance stack-up analysis, and implement GD&T.
- Build and manage Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Work closely with manufacturers to enhance production processes, design fixtures and tools, and improve assembly efficiency at scale.
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and procedures for mechanical systems and components.
- Design and set up testing environments to simulate real-world conditions, collecting and analyzing data for performance assessment.
- Conduct mechanical tests, including stress testing, vibration analysis, thermal testing, and durability assessments.
- Document and present test results, identifying potential areas for improvement and communicating findings to the broader engineering team.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues within the existing robot fleet, implementing improvements and reporting to leadership.
- Support builds at offsite and overseas vendors, document improvements, and manage build configurations.
