Wegner CPAs is partnering with a local non-profit organization hiring for a Senior Accountant to join the team in their Madison, WI office. This role is responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting operations, preparing financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP, and supporting audits and financial planning efforts. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical accounting background, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure accuracy of all financial data.
• Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Assist in month-end and year-end close processes.
• Manage fixed asset accounting, accruals, and journal entries.
• Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and analysis.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
• Prepare and review balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow reports.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
