Merrick Community Services was founded on Saint Paul’s East Side in 1908 as the Christ Child Society, a part of a national model of settlement houses, which provided essential services to economically disadvantaged communities. Today, Merrick Community Services stands as one of the oldest nonprofit agencies in Ramsey County, with a history of assisting individuals and families transition from poverty to become self-sufficient and stable. The core programs of MCS are Employment and Career Services, Family and Community Services, Food Shelf, and Meals on Wheels.
Description
The Senior Program Manager is tasked with the responsibility for the direct management, supervision, planning, and development of all MCS programs : Employment and Career Services, Family and Community Services, Food Shelf, and Meals on Wheels, This position reports to the Director of Programs.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years’ supervisory and programming experience.
The ideal candidate will understand, appreciate, and value the significance of race, ethnicity, social-economic status, poverty, and cultural backgrounds.
Duties and Responsibilities
Leadership and Management
- Collaborate with the Director of Programs to interview and hire department staff.
- Approve bi-weekly timesheets and create / coordinate a monthly Work from Home Calendar.
- Supervise all direct service program staff.
- Model, direct, and promote compliance with the Agency Employee Handbook.
- Support program staff to meet objectives, attain goals, and identify opportunities and / or barriers related to job performance.
- Evaluate work performance, based on Annual Work Plans.
- Oversight of case management documentation, tracking, and billing.
- Ensure staff participates in required agency and program-related trainings and development.
- Help create and maintain a diverse, equitable, and inclusive work culture and environment.
- Participate in MCS fundraising events.
- Represent MCS to the East Side community with area partners and others in a supportive, positive manner.
