Job descriptionTwo-year degree in quality or manufacturing or equivalent experience Thorough understanding of blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation. Ability to perform dimensional inspection using wide variety of inspection equipment (simple hand tools such as caliper to Coordinate Measuring Machine) Understanding of manufacturing processes (turning, milling, etc.). Lean, Six Sigma, and / or ASQ Certification a plus. Able to communicate effectively with other personnel. Experience with AS9100 Quality System. Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook). J-STD-001 Soldering Certified. IPC-610 Solder Inspection Certified. The Quality Inspector is responsible for performing 1st piece inspections per customer and company requirements. Duties also include performing internal process audits and assisting with First Article Inspections (FAI’s).
Major Responsibilities :
Responsible for day-to-day activities in support of the machining and assembly departments that include :
- 1st piece inspection per customer and company requirements
- Perform other inspections including : raw material receiving, receiving, in-process, and / or first article inspections
- Perform inspections for GR&R and Process Capability studies.
- Perform / assist in the Internal Auditing process
- Assist with FAI’s
- Maintain positive working relationships with other departments
- Help manufacturing troubleshoot problems as they occur
- Facilitate the Quality System
