IMEG is growing, and we'd love to have you join our team! We are currently seeking a Senior Structural Engineer who can report out of our Urbandale IA office. The Senior Structural Engineer will lead projects as a project manager or lead engineer for the delivery of large and highly complex projects with minimal support required from senior staff. They will work closely with a team of engineers and consultants to provide project direction, engineering solutions, and advice to clients to ensure positive outcomes. Primary responsibilities will include project management, engineering analysis, design, and implementation oversight of structural systems in buildings and other structures. Additional responsibilities will include working within the project's monetary budget, leading training and mentoring efforts, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations.
Principal Responsibilities
- Lead design efforts for the analysis of structural systems; Utilize engineering software and tools to create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations according to code requirements and IMEG standards
- Performs site assessments and generates detailed analysis and technical reports
- Interact with clients to understand their needs, gather project requirements, and communicate technical information effectively; Build and maintain client relationships through professional communication
- Provide in-process design reviews of structural system design, calculations, specifications, and project correspondence; Implement IMEG quality control processes to ensure that engineering designs and solutions meet IMEG quality standards, industry standards and client requirements
- Provide technical training and mentoring; Provide technical assistance in resolution of field issues with minimal support from senior staff
- Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in structural engineering; Contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts within IMEG
- Prioritize safety in all aspects of engineering work
- Conduct oneself in an ethical and professional manner
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including other engineers, architects, and project managers, to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goals
- Participate in project interviews and project presentations
Required Skills / Abilities
Education and Experience
Salary Range $112,000 - $167,000. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay will be based on several factors including experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant. Other rewards may include annual bonuses and stock ownership options.
