Job descriptionEstablish and nurture relationships with key federal stakeholders, including congressional members, agency officials, and policy influencers. Continuously monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory developments, such as appropriations, rescissions, and continuing resolutions. Policy Implementation & Advocacy Provide strategic advice on performance-based contracting and flexible contracting models. Represent the company in federal forums and coalitions, maintaining a consistent and compliant presence. Ensure adherence to all federal lobbying disclosure and compliance requirements, including timely reporting and documentation. Cross-Functional Leadership Support state-level engagement strategies in synergy with federal priorities. Facilitate internal initiatives to generate actionable ideas for influencing government clients and stakeholders. Political Action Committee (PAC) Management & Operations Develop strategies to enhance PAC participation, engage eligible employees, and align PAC activities with government relations goals. Crisis & Change Management Maintain a non-partisan stance while keeping the company politically aware and influencing policy through operational excellence. 15+ years of experience in federal government relations, public policy, or legislative affairs. Proven track record of navigating complex federal and political environments, including appropriations, OMB processes, and agency rulemaking. Outstanding communication, negotiation, and strategic planning abilities. Experience with federal agencies, Congress, or large government contractors is highly desirable. Ability to lead cross-functional teams and effectively influence at the executive level. Previous experience with performance-based contracting or public assistance program implementation. Familiarity with federal procurement frameworks and compliance standards. TS / SCI clearance or eligibility is preferred.
Description & Requirements
The Senior Vice President of Federal Relations will be a vital strategic advisor and operational leader, tasked with sharing intelligence, insights, and coordinating influence campaigns to shape and execute the company's federal engagement strategy. This role will focus on influencing key stakeholders and decision makers regarding federal legislative, regulatory, and administrative matters affecting the company, particularly in public assistance programs, federal contracting, and performance-based policy implementation. Knowledge of both civil and defense-related federal and state government operations is essential.
This position requires an experienced government relations executive with a profound understanding of federal appropriations, agency operations, and the political dynamics that drive funding, policy, and accountability across projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Federal Strategy & Engagement
Design and implement a comprehensive federal government relations strategy that aligns with corporate priorities.
Lead efforts in internal coordination on federal rule changes.
Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, Operations, Business Development, and other departments to assess and mitigate federal policy risks.
Oversee the management and operations of the company's PAC, ensuring compliance with all federal regulations.
Counsel leadership on political risks, including potential funding disruptions and policy decisions affecting the business.
