implementation, and administration of the planning disciplines project and program involvement within the organization. / liliLead the most complex and largest scale transportation planning projects within the discipline, ensuring contributors know what they are required to do and by when, preparing and overseeing relevant project budgets, monitoring internal and external events, tracking hours and expenses, ensuring satisfactory performance and profitability, and supervising subcontractors, contract work, and employees. / liliDrive compliance and accountability-at-all-levels with applicable federal, state, and local planning practices, approval processes, zoning laws, policies and regulatory requirements. / liliOversee internal vision and mission for the planning discipline, ensuring alignment with business operations strategy, and maintaining that certifications, accreditations, and client value ratings are continuously improved. / liliLead planning discipline meetings and continuing educational opportunities for area of responsibility, providing updates and recommendations to staff that ensure all appropriate measures are taken to foster innovation, development, and quality project delivery within the discipline. / liliServe as the planning disciplines representative and liaison to a variety of external entities including federal, state, and local agencies, clients, subcontractors, industry-related groups, and various government and community entities. / liliDrive the overall long-term strategy, growth, and pipeline development of transportation planning work for WSP in assigned area of responsibility, with a focus on opportunities in all disciplines (planning, design, strategic consulting, and program management). / liliLead technical aspects of contract negotiation, presentations, and meetings. / liliProvide leadership for proposals and project work scopes, pricing, budget, and performance metrics for the planning discipline. / liliInterpret and summarize data, including reports and documents for complex projects and initiatives that result in sound planning and regulatory conclusions to minimize impacts to the community, population, local economy, and environment. / liliProvide discipline leadership to multi-disciplinary project teams and contribute to providing high level strategic advice to clients. / liliProvides performance guidance and leadership to assigned managers and staff. / liliDevelop high level business contacts and a client base for providing high level transportation planning, permitting, approval, and impact assessment services including identifying additional business development opportunities, and cross-selling of other WSP capabilities. / liliRemain current in transportation planning subject matter, practices, regulations, and techniques. / liliCollaborate with professionals from a variety of disciplines to provide trusted advisor service and future ready solutions for clients. / liliExercise responsibilities as required by business needs. / li / ulh3Who You Are / h3pstrongRequired Qualifications / strong / pulliBachelors degree in transportation planning, urban planning, environmental planning, or a related field (or equivalent experience). / lili15+ years of transportation planning experience in a corporate environment. / liliStrong working knowledge of relevant planning practices, approval processes, zoning laws, permitting requirements, notification and compliance practices, applicable regional / state / federal regulatory framework and the business impact upon the organization. / liliDemonstrated ability with establishing, implementing, and managing multiple larger-scale discipline-related programs, documents, projects, and practices for a line(s) of business. / liliExcellent leadership and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to manage staff, and effectively, persuasively, and tactfully interact with employees at all levels of the organization. / liliStrategic lateral thinking and strong analytical skills with attention to detail and prioritization of responsibilities in a pressure work environment. / liliAbility to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including senior management, clients, and company-wide staff, including those with whom no formal hierarchical relationship exists. / liliStrong ability to quickly adapt to change and demonstrate flexibility to a variety of schedules and hours to meet business needs. / liliAdvanced knowledge and proficiency with office automation / communication
