Workforce Coordinator – Syracuse Build
Westcott Community Center | Syracuse, NY
Westcott Community Center is hiring a Workforce Coordinator to help connect local residents to skilled trades and construction careers tied to major regional projects, including the Micron site. This is a hands-on, people-centered role for someone who is passionate about workforce development, equity, and community impact.
What You’ll Do:
- Connect construction job openings with qualified candidates across Central and Upstate NY.
- Support job seekers with resumes, interview prep, and hiring readiness.
- Coordinate referrals, track placements, and follow up with contractors and partners.
- Build strong relationships with workforce providers, unions, and community organizations.
- Lead community-based workforce information sessions and outreach events.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in human services, education, rehabilitation counseling, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Knowledge of workforce development, career coaching, or human resources.
- Familiarity with skilled trades and union pathways.
- Strong communication, organization, and relationship-building skills.
- Commitment to community engagement and working with diverse populations.
