Summary :
As a Food Service Supervisor, your primary focus will be on ensuring excellent guest relations and satisfaction. You will play a key role in supporting the Department Manager with various responsibilities, including ordering, merchandising, maintaining department conditions, and training team members. Your efforts will help lead the department towards efficient, safe, and profitable operations.
Key Responsibilities :
Greet and engage every guest that enters your department, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
Assist in the interviewing, training, scheduling, and performance management of all team members.
Communicate effectively with the department to relay important information.
Foster a positive atmosphere and boost team morale within the department.
Exhibit strong leadership by managing time effectively and delegating tasks appropriately.
Support and implement departmental concepts and programs.
Contribute to achieving and exceeding financial goals.
Guarantee that quality products are consistently available and meet guest needs.
Help safeguard and monitor department assets, ensuring policies and procedures are followed.
Practice safe work habits, maintain cleanliness, and promote a safe work environment.
Ensure all department systems and processes are followed accurately.
Collaborate with the Department Manager to plan production and promotional goals during team meetings.
Assist in coaching and developing team members while adhering to policies and procedures.
Help keep department manuals and materials up-to-date.
Assist in coordinating inventory processes and reporting.
Be prepared to manage all department responsibilities in the absence of the Department Manager, including ordering, multitasking, and merchandising.
Ensure compliance with food safety procedures at all times.
Demonstrate effective conflict management skills.
Perform other duties as requested by upper management.
Key Requirements :
Must be at least 18 years old.
High School Diploma or equivalent required; Culinary, Restaurant, or Hospitality degree preferred.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a restaurant or food service environment.
Ability to communicate professionally with colleagues at all levels of the organization.
Self-motivated, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to stand for extended periods (up to 4 hours).
Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs and push / pull up to 100 lbs.
Willingness to work within a freezer or fridge for up to 15 minutes.
Capability to perform various physical tasks such as bending, squatting, and walking.
Basic technical skills for performing math and computer tasks (including Word and Excel).
Fast-paced working ability while maintaining control and efficiency.
Must possess and maintain a Certified Food Safety Manager certification.
Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Openness to receiving coaching related to work performance and habits.
Ability to work well as part of a team and maintain positive relationships with others.
