Job description

A full-time opportunity is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support K-12 students in a positive and inclusive educational environment. This contract position is based in Macon, GA, offering 37.5 hours per week during the current school year (CSY), with an immediate start and continuation through the end of the school year (EOSY).

Key responsibilities include providing effective interpretation services that facilitate communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and their peers, teachers, and staff, ensuring accessibility to the curriculum and school activities. The role requires fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and active participation in the districts supportive deaf education program.

Qualifications and experience desired :

  • Minimum 3.5 Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) rating or higher
  • Valid Georgia Educational Interpreter certification
  • Proven fluency in American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Passion for working with K-12 students in an educational setting
