Torch Technologies, a 100% Employee-owned company, is seeking a talented Systems Engineer with experience developing real time virtual simulations. These can involve human-in-the-loop or constructive type simulations that use Monte-Carlo for ground vehicles. Necessary development skills include Software development with simulation frameworks that are maintainable and scalable. Torch also values experience in digital engineering, SysML, and the ability to translate digital engineering definitions into software simulations. Torch is seeking candidates with these qualities and experience that work well with a multidisciplinary team. Candidate will work directly with customers supporting the Ground Vehicle System Center (GVSC). Candidate must be able to work in person daily at the Torch Michigan office located in Sterling Heights, MI. Candidate should be trustworthy, dependable, and self-motivated, eager to overcome challenges and solve problems. Previous experience working within a DoD environment is a plus, but not required.
Job Requirements
Qualified candidates will have direct experience with the following :
Applying the systems engineering process throughout the system life cycle for development of new and / or existing military vehicle systems. This includes supporting analysis, development, and system integration of systems such as sensors, bus interfaces, embedded computer HW / SW, networks, and diagnostics into vehicle systems.
Analyzing requirements to assess HW / SW interfaces, human factors, reliability, maintainability, and safety issues.
Reviewing hierarchical system specifications. Analyze, review, and maintain specifications, integration documents, and master plans for vehicle programs. Develop and review System / Subsystem Design Descriptions, associated designs, configurations, operations, and architecture.
Supporting Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and digital engineering initiatives, including the ability to use MBSE tools such as Cameo to provide a continuous end-to-end MBSE representation of systems.
Providing expertise in technical and programmatic meetings with diverse stakeholders, including understanding of system documentation for program support and milestone activities.
Supporting program configuration and data management, including use of digital engineering tools to update and flow changes across system specifications and data.
Qualified candidates will have an interest or experience in one of the following areas :
Background and knowledge of Ground Vehicles systems and subsystems, their interfaces, and behaviors
Strong understanding of human factors and / or quantifying and analyzing results from Human-in-the-loop vehicle experiments.
Experience with digital engineering, MBSE, and / or source control configuration management tools such as Siemens Teamcenter, PTC Windchill, Cameo, Magic Draw, Git and Gitlab.
Education and Experience Requirements :
B.S or greater in Systems Engineering, or related engineering or technical discipline is required. Relevant graduate degrees will be given preference.
