Job Title : Site Civil Engineer

Job Description

As a Site Civil Engineer, you will lead the design and development of documents for a range of complex projects, including storm and sanitary sewer, water supply, wastewater treatment plans, access management plans, and roadway design. You will help establish the standards for the technical design content of documentation in all phases of the design process, coordinate with other disciplines, including consultants, and ensure internal quality assurance through quality control measures. This position also entails mentoring and leading junior staff within projects.

Develop or manage development reports and preliminary concepts and full design phase deliverables including drawings, specifications, cost estimates, quantity take-offs, technical reports, narratives, and permit applications.

Prepare engineering proposals. Provide input on anticipated complexity, budget, and hours needed to complete work to help generate proposals for new work.

Orchestrate QA / QC milestones and events, lead team member coordination, and ensure project compliance through checklists and project charter.

Participate in field investigations and the process to diagnose problems. Perform field inspection services for conformance to plans and specifications and preparation of reports as a follow up.

Attend public meetings when required. Consult with regulatory agencies when necessary.

Use design software / technology, including AutoCAD 3D, EPANET, MicroStation and other emerging technologies for presentation and production purposes.
