Make an Impact Where It Matters Most

At Thermo Fisher Scientific, our Mission is to enable our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer.

As the EHS Site Lead, you will serve as the site's Environmental, Health & Safety leader while supporting facility operations to ensure a safe, compliant, and efficient manufacturing environment. In this role, you will partner across functions to strengthen our safety culture, maintain regulatory compliance, and support infrastructure that enables the production of life-changing technologies.

How You'll Make an Impact

  • Lead the site's Environmental, Health & Safety programs, ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, FDA, EMA, and cGMP requirements.
  • Drive a proactive safety culture through risk assessments, incident investigations, corrective actions, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with operations, engineering, quality, and facilities to support safe and reliable manufacturing operations.
  • Support facility operations, maintenance planning, and infrastructure projects to ensure uninterrupted site performance.
  • Coordinate environmental compliance programs, inspections, audits, and regulatory reporting.
  • Manage EHS-related vendors, contractors, and service providers.
  • Participate in capital projects and process changes to ensure safety and regulatory requirements are incorporated from project initiation.
  • Lead emergency preparedness activities and support the site's emergency response program.
  • Support facility-related issues, including participation in an on-call rotation as needed.

A Day in the Life

You may be:

  • Reviewing EHS metrics and leading site safety initiatives.
  • Conducting safety observations, inspections, and risk assessments throughout the facility.
  • Partnering with engineering and operations to implement process improvements safely.
  • Supporting facility maintenance activities to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Preparing for or participating in regulatory and customer audits.
  • Delivering EHS training and coaching colleagues on best practices.

Keys to Success

Minimum Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field with 3+ years of relevant EHS and/or manufacturing experience, OR 7+ years of relevant EHS and/or manufacturing experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
  • Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (FDA/cGMP) is preferred.

Technical Expertise

  • Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, FDA, EMA, cGMP, and applicable environmental and safety regulations.
  • Experience conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, audits, and corrective actions.
  • Familiarity with facility systems and manufacturing infrastructure is preferred.
  • Experience with EHS management systems and Microsoft Office applications.

Leadership & Execution

  • Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct supervisory responsibility.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills.
  • Analytical mindset with a focus on root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to build strong partnerships across technical and non-technical teams.

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to support on-call rotation and occasional off-hours needs.
  • Physical ability to perform site inspections and respond to operational issues.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel between facilities as needed.

Why Join Thermo Fisher Scientific?

This role brings our Employer Value Proposition to life:

  • Work with purpose: Your leadership helps create a safe workplace that enables scientific breakthroughs and improves global health.
