Stepan Company seeks a full-time Site Operations Manager in Pasadena, Texas to safely and reliably manage the operations of the facility. Duties include : ensure strict adherence to plant and corporate Environment, Health and Safety, and Security (EHS&S) policies; ensure that site production personnel are effectively trained in job functions and capable of meeting EHS&S expectations; drive operational improvements; plan capital; drive production reliability efforts; assess and establish operational priorities where conflicts of resources occur; ensure that operating procedures are up to date, accurate, and correctly utilized; ensure that planned maintenance work is completed to schedule and within budget; ensure that the organization responds promptly to customer service issues; promote and drive a zero tolerance mindset for quality deviations; ensure adherence to Continuous Improvement / Operational Excellence practices and mindset; manage the performance of site production personnel; recruit and select team members for site production; define roles and expectations of production personnel; and develop and mentor direct reports.

Position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Production Management or related field, or any equivalent suitable combination of education, training, or experience as determined by a qualified evaluation service. Position also requires 8 years of experience in Production Supervision or related occupation in a Chemical manufacturing environment to include experience managing subordinate operations personnel in a Chemical manufacturing environment; leading and developing teams in Chemical process operations, including safe handling and managing operations of hazardous chemicals; and providing direction for manufacturing improvements utilizing ISO and / or other structured quality improvement tools.
