Responsibilities :
- Performs initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition and establishes a plan of care.
- Performs therapy programs utilizing standard speech therapy techniques as appropriate for the age and disability of the patient.
- Documents delivery of Speech Therapy services.
- Educates patients, family, caregivers and significant others.
- Promotes physical rehabilitation services through community / system based education activities, marketing opportunities, and support groups.
- Accepts the role of Clinical Instructor to supervise / educate students from accredited speech therapy programs.
- Acts as a preceptor
- Participates in planning for the provision of patient care services.
- Provides staff in-service upon returning from continuing education or professional conferences.
- Performs inpatient and outpatient fiber optic endoscopic evaluation of swallow (FEES)
