Payroll Specialist

Location : Riverside, CA

Schedule : Full-Time | Monday–Friday

Pay : $24+ / hour (DOE)

About the Opportunity

We’re partnering with a well-established company in Riverside seeking a Payroll Specialist to oversee and manage accurate, timely payroll processing. This role is ideal for someone who brings strong payroll expertise, understands compliance, and enjoys being the go-to payroll resource within an organization.

What You’ll Be Doing

Process full-cycle payroll for hourly and salaried employees

Ensure accurate calculation of wages, overtime, bonuses, and deductions

Manage multi-state payroll compliance, tax filings, and garnishments

Maintain employee payroll records and handle payroll audits

Reconcile payroll reports and support month-end and year-end close

Partner with HR and Accounting to ensure payroll accuracy and alignment

Resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries professionally

Support payroll system upgrades, implementations, or process improvements

Serve as a resource or mentor for junior payroll or HR staff

What We’re Looking For

5+ years of payroll processing experience

Strong knowledge of payroll laws, wage and hour compliance, and tax regulations

Experience with payroll systems (ADP, Paylocity, UKG, Workday, or similar)

Advanced Excel skills for reporting and reconciliations

Proven ability to work independently and manage strict payroll deadlines

High level of confidentiality, accuracy, and professionalism

Clear communication skills with employees and leadership
