Job description
Gesher Yehuda -

Gesher Yehuda, a dedicated institution for students with learning differences, is seeking a compassionate and experienced Mental Health Professional to join our team. This role will provide crucial support in crisis management, staff resources around student needs, social group skills development, and parent communication. The ideal candidate will have experience working with students with Language-Based Learning Disabilities (LBLD) and ADHD, and possess strong communication skills to effectively work with both staff and parents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Social Skills Groups: Lead or support social skills development groups, helping students improve interpersonal skills, conflict resolution, and self-regulation.
  • Student Support: Work closely with students with LBLD and ADHD to address emotional, social, and behavioral challenges, and develop individualized strategies for success.
  • Parental Communication: Act as a liaison between the school and parents, providing updates on student progress, offering recommendations, and supporting parent education in relation to their child’s mental health and developmental needs.
  • Behavioral & Emotional Counseling: While less focused on individual counseling mandates, provide essential guidance to students who require mental health support or emotional regulation.
  • Crisis Management: Provide immediate support and intervention in crisis situations involving students, utilizing appropriate de-escalation techniques and strategies.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with the school leadership, teachers, and outside professionals to create an inclusive and supportive environment for all students.
  • Staff Support & Resources: Serve as a resource for faculty and staff by providing insight into best practices for supporting students with unique emotional and behavioral needs.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or higher in Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Licensed or certified mental health professional (LCSW, LPC, or equivalent).
  • Proven experience working with students with LBLD, ADHD, and other learning differences.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both staff and parents.
  • Compassionate, patient, and understanding of the challenges faced by students with learning and behavioral differences.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in professional practice.
  • Experience in a school or educational setting is preferred, but not required.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary based on experience
  • Professional development opportunities
  • A supportive and collaborative working environment
  • 401k match
  • Contribution towards health benefits

How to Apply:
Interested candidates are encouraged to submit a cover letter and resume outlining their qualifications and experience to info@gesheryehuda.org. Please include "Mental Health Professional Application" in the subject line.
