Our focus is on building evidence for effective practice and translating that evidence-based knowledge to practice and policy environments with an emphasis in rural health and vulnerable populations.We are currently recruiting a faculty member for a Primary Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PC-PNP) Program Director position. The PC-PNP Program Director is responsible for the PC-PNP program of the College. The PC-PNP Program Director ensures that the standards and policies of the College of Nursing, the Health Science Center (HSC), and the University are met in the PC-PNP program, and further that the program achieves the highest standards for Primary Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner education outlined by national bodies in nursing education.The incoming faculty member will teach and maintain an active CPNP-PC national certification, integrating teaching and clinical experiences to fulfill our educational mission. Responsibilities include facilitating curriculum planning, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of the PC-PNP program; classroom and simulation teaching; mentoring, advising and precepting students; assisting with clinical placements, community outreach and overseeing student progress. Additionally, they will participate in program activities and committees to achieve program goals. The primary focus of the position is to teach content and oversee the PC-PNP program. This is a full-time, 12-month appointment.QualificationsMinimum Qualifications : Doctoral degree (PhD, DNP or equivalent)Three years Primary Care PNP practice experienceActive Nurse Practitioner license and CPNP-PC national certificationClinical preceptor or didactic teaching experienceMust be eligible for licensure in New MexicoPreferred Qualifications : Didactic teaching experience in the last 5 yearsExperience working with rural and / or underserved populationsExperience mentoring Doctor of Nursing Practice studentsLeadership experience in academic or other healthcare settingsA demonstrated commitment to diversity equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communitiesApplication InstructionsOnly applications submitted through the official UNMJobs site will be accepted.
