The Social Services Coordinator functions as an active part of the Social Services team by providing clerical functions for their assigned unit(s). They act to ensure supplies, charting, faxing, and patient coordination are all operating smoothly in their work area. Unit Coordinators work under the direct supervision of the Social Services Manager.

• Coordinate with Team Leads and Social Services staff to assist with managing supplies, assisting in coordinating care, and providing clerical support as needed.
• Communicate unit needs to either the Team Lead or Social Services Manager.
• Ensure timely filing of patient care documentation.

Qualifications

Education : High school diploma or GED required.

Experience : One (1) year experience working with a psychiatric patient population and previous clerical experience preferred.

Licensure : None.

Additional Requirements : Incumbent must maintain a current, valid certificate in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). Successful completion of Handle with Care (HWC) training (provided in-house) including de-escalation and appropriate use of seclusion and restraint, within the first 30 days of employment and required prior to assisting in the procedures. Incumbent may be required to work overtime and flexible hours.
