Position Details
Description of Duties : The Middle School Social Studies Teacher creates and implements theme-based and project-based units derived from the Michigan K-12 standards. The job requires the ability to deliver differentiated instruction to multi-age / multi-grade classes; this might mean modifying curriculum to accommodate students with specific needs. Middle school teachers also oversee a base class made up of around 20 students. Building community and creating engaging activities with them is essential and aligns with the schools beliefs of teaching to the whole-child and developing rich relationships with students.
Requirements :
- Possess a Bachelors or Masters Degree as well as a Michigan Teaching Certificate or be enrolled in an alternative certification program applicable to the assignment
- Demonstrate ability to support students with a wide range of abilities, backgrounds, and learning styles
