Job Summary
The University of Colorado Boulder is searching for 2 Social Work Post-Masters Fellows! These fellowships are for candidates who have completed a master’s degree in social work and who need supervised clinical experience to obtain licensure. These positions provide clinical services including screening services, intake, group and individual psychotherapy, behavioral health interventions, telehealth services and crisis intervention to students attending the University of Colorado Boulder. The positions work a 40-hour week and require a two-year commitment. Training for these roles includes regular seminars on specific mental health topics, and 90 minutes of weekly individual supervision with an LCSW. Additionally, Social Work Fellows attend a weekly group training seminar and will co-facilitate a minimum of one therapy group each semester. All Fellows attend CAPS staff trainings and meetings. Ideal candidates are recent MSW graduates who have an educational background in evidenced based psychotherapy practices and whose goals are to acquire necessary clinical and supervision hours for licensure. Candidates should have relevant and significant clinical experience providing direct psychotherapy services including crisis intervention and group therapy. CAPS provides psychotherapy services in a brief therapy model, thus candidates will be using short term interventions. CAPS is a multidisciplinary setting, and Fellows should be familiar with electronic medical records and be okay with managing a demanding clinical schedule.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Administrative and Training : Receive weekly supervision from a licensed staff social worker, attend staff meetings and trainings, write electronic clinical notes. Participate in CAPS group training program and professional development seminars with other CAPS staff in training. Clinical : Provide psychotherapy and outreach services : Perform initial therapy assessments, screening services, individual and group psychotherapy, case management and crisis intervention. Clinical services may be provided both in person and virtually via telehealth. Provide behavioral health consultations in the Medical Services clinic. Provide psychoeducational workshops and community outreach as needed.
What You Should Know
These fellowships are two-year appointments, anticipated to start on 8 / 3 / 2026 and anticipated to end on 8 / 2 / 2028. They are full-time, year-round positions, and work hours will be Monday through Friday from 8 : 00 a.m. to 5 : 00 p.m. These roles offer the opportunity to work in a hybrid modality, with options for limited remote work available.

What We Require
- Completion of a Master of Social Work graduate degree (MSW).
- Should be pursuing supervised clinical experience to acquire licensure.
- Registered as a Clinical Social Work Candidate (SWC) OR an LSW (Licensed Social Worker) with the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) by the start date.
