Job Summary :
National Power is seeking an experienced Lead Solar Technician. The Lead Solar Technician is responsible for leading, supervising, and mentoring field crews in the installation, maintenance, and repair of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. This role involves working with various tools and equipment to ensure the efficient and safe operation of solar energy systems. The Lead Solar Technician will work closely with other team members, including electricians, engineers, and project managers, to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget and according to safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead, supervise, and mentor field crews in the installation of solar PV systems, including civil, electrical, and mechanical scopes
- Oversee trenching, excavation, conduit installation, and backfilling according to project specifications and safety requirements
- Manage and inspect the installation of DC wiring, module installation, combiner boxes, inverters, and AC electrical infrastructure (including transformer and switchgear installations)
- Read, interpret, and implement construction drawings, schematics, and electrical diagrams to guide field installation
- Coordinate daily work schedules, deliveries, inspections, and crew assignments to meet project timelines
- Maintain accurate daily reports, job logs, and time tracking for field crews
- Collaborate closely with site management, engineers, quality control personnel, and subcontractors to address field issues and changes
- Conduct daily safety meetings and enforce strict safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, and harnesses
- Ensure compliance with all relevant codes (NEC, OSHA, etc.), site safety standards, and environmental regulations
