The Sourcing Analyst supports strategic sourcing activities with the goal of achieving significant initial cost reductions, standardization of products and services across the Network while maintaining or improving product quality and supplier service levels. The Sourcing Analyst coordinates with the Director of Strategic Sourcing to conduct competitive bidding processes for direct and indirect commodities and services, typically through use of Request for Proposals. The Sourcing Analyst coordinates with the Value Analysis team to ensure proposed contracts / agreements are in line with the expectations / needs of the Network. The individual understands the group purchasing organizations and Community Health Network’s contract portfolio to leverage and appropriate agreements. They understand supplier options per spend category based on sourcing strategies, as per direction of the Director of Strategic Sourcing and Group Purchasing Organization. Assists in analyses of markets to determine vendor sources and product availability. The Sourcing Analyst researches markets and trends; determines and recommends to other stakeholders, develops, and builds new sources of supply in conjunction with strategy; plans for implementation of improved methods and sources. The individual plans and facilitates meetings and drives communications with present and potential products / service providers; works with Director of Strategic Sourcing to engage stakeholders, management team, internal and external partners and customers, where necessary, to ensure full participation in decisions and resolutions. The Sourcing Analyst influences, drives, and manages change, including the development of changes associated with standardization, utilization and use of technology to support cost savings, increase effectiveness and customer service. This role will be responsible for analyzing responses, performing cost benefit analysis, negotiating with vendors, developing reports / presentations and presenting to and gaining buy-in from management teams within Supply Chain, internal customers, and leadership.

Exceptional Skills and Qualifications

Applicants for this position should be able to collaborate with others in a team setting, have excellent communication skills, and a positive attitude toward problem-solving.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, hospital administration or other related field required.
  • Three (3) years of experience in strategic sourcing or buying required.
  • General knowledge of products across healthcare and of the sourcing / procurement process.
  • Demonstrated experience in change management, quality management, process analysis, data analysis, problem solving and team building.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills.
  • Must possess a comprehensive knowledge of data analysis, purchasing, pricing, types and quality of products and services, as well as knowledge of prices and market trends and establishing vendor relationships.
  • This position will work a hybrid schedule, with the expectation to work on-site twice a week at 9894 E 121st Street Fishers, IN 46038.
